6 Week Beginner Yoga Series

New to yoga? This one's for you! Our beginner yoga series is for those who have never stepped foot on a yoga mat, feel a bit nervous jumping into a standard class or just want to start with some more personalized attention and time to break things down. Over 6 weeks, we'll explore the roots and philosophy of yoga, common terms and breathing techniques, foundation postures and alignment, and more. If you've been looking for a supportive space to ask questions, move more slowly, and build confidence, you've found it! Your journey starts here. Let's take the first step together.

The Melanated Breath

Join Lemeul Magby for The Melanated Breath hosted at The Healing Loft.  A deep somatic experience using the breath to access parts of the subconscious, releasing stagnant energy and stored trauma. This is an opportunity to take a bird's eye view, gain clarity, release what no longer serves you, and renew your spirit. The studio provides all props including mats, blocks, bolsters, blankets, and eye masks, but you're welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

Join Kendall, owner of The Healing Loft, as she leads us through an hour of mindful movement where everyone is welcome! The first half of class will guide you through 30 minutes of gentle yoga — accessible, beginner-friendly postures that encourage strength, ease, and presence. We'll then shift into 30 minutes of deeply restful restorative poses, fully supported by props, to invite relaxation and release. In partnership with Connect With a Wish, a local nonprofit supporting children in the foster care system, your entry fee will be a heartfelt monetary donation of your choosing.

The Hustle Healer presents a unique breathwork and somatic movement event designed especially for the R&B lover. Come breathe to the rhythm of R&B and start your relaxing weekend off right. This session combines intentional breathwork with gentle somatic movement and is open to all levels. Let the rhythm guide your breath and movement as you unwind from the week and settle into weekend mode.

I'll guide you through meditation with sound immersion and vocal toning followed by an introduction to tools and practices to renew, cleanse and align to your divine wisdom. Restorative Yoga & Sound

Join Kendall, owner of The Healing Loft, and Carly, owner of Waves of Change Coalition for an evening of restorative yoga and sound healing.

You’ll be guided through long-held, fully supported postures while immersed in the soothing sounds of Himalayan singing bowls, tuning forks, chimes, gongs, rain sticks, and drums—designed to help the body unwind and the mind settle. 25% of proceeds from each ticket purchased will be donated to The YWCA. Props are provided, but feel free to bring anything of your own that you'd like. Dress comfortably and come as you are.

Yoga for Grief & Loss

Guided by Eileen Gavin, a Certified Compassionate Bereavement Care Yoga Instructor under the MISS Foundation, this practice includes slow, intentional yoga postures to help release physical tightness, breath awareness to cultivate presence, and sound healing and meditation for deep relaxation. Open discussion is also encouraged, allowing for shared support in a safe and understanding space. This class is designed to help you reconnect with yourself and find a sense of ease as you navigate loss.
